A customer can like the sofa, choose the fabric and agree with the price, then stop because they cannot tell what happens if it will not fit through the door.
That is the part of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (BFCM) preparation I would look at before adding another reassurance badge. The customer may already want the product. We still need to help them understand what buying it involves.
In one Blend Commerce test for a premium travel brand , the team added delivery, dispatch, returns, guarantee and support information near Add to Cart. Across 99,754 visitors, the reported conversion rate was 3.30% in both versions. Small movements in revenue per visitor and average order value did not establish a significant win.
That does not mean those answers were useless. It means putting them together beside the button did not demonstrate a conversion improvement in that test. We still have to find out which question matters on our page.
Which doubts belong beside Add to Cart?
I recommend putting the answer that could change the customer's decision close to the control it affects. Choose it from recordings, customer questions and purchase data, then A/B test whether that answer helps more people complete an order.
For a sofa, this might be delivery access and return collection. For an appliance, it might be installation requirements. For jewelry, it might be sizing and whether a customized piece can be returned. A wellness device might need clearer trial terms or an explanation of recurring charges.
The reason this matters is that “Free shipping” and “Easy returns” can leave the actual question unanswered. Free shipping does not tell someone whether a sofa is left at the curb. Easy returns does not tell them whether they need to find and pay a carrier to collect it.
Frequently asked questions

Should every product page show returns beside Add to Cart?
Customers should be able to find relevant return terms before buying. How much to show beside Add to Cart depends on the product and the question customers ask. A short condition and clear link may be enough; bulky, customized or excluded items may need more explanation.
Do trust badges increase conversion on expensive products?
There is no reliable universal lift to apply. The badge, brand familiarity, page and customer concern all matter. Test whether the element answers a documented question, then check completed orders and downstream outcomes. A recognizable logo or more badge clicks is not proof of increased trust or sales.
What belongs beside Add to Cart on mobile?
Keep the selected option, price, action and most consequential condition readable. Use a short disclosure or expandable detail for the rest. Review the actual viewport: a reassurance block that pushes the buying controls away can create a new problem. Test mobile outcomes explicitly.
How long should this A/B test run?
There is no fixed number of days that makes the result reliable. Plan around the purchase rate, eligible traffic, effect worth detecting and buying cycle. Account for delayed orders, and distinguish the initial sales result from later returns and cancellation outcomes.
What if the store has too little traffic for a useful A/B test?
Use recordings, customer interviews, support questions and usability sessions to narrow the problem. Correct inaccurate or contradictory information, document the change and monitor what follows. Be clear that a before-and-after movement does not establish causation. Do not manufacture certainty from an underpowered test.
