The client has signed. Why are you still chasing the work?
When client projects keep coming back to you, define who carries the questions, changes and follow-through—and compare ways to give that job a clear owner.

The designer is ready to start, but the client has not confirmed the product names. A colleague thinks the feedback is final. You remember another comment from yesterday’s call. Before anyone can move, you open the messages, find the latest version and explain what needs to happen.
You may have people doing every part of the project and still be the person holding it together.
For an owner, the useful question is which of those connections someone else could take responsibility for. That might mean a clearer job for an existing colleague, a different way of working with clients, or a managed AI Worker. The choice starts with the work you keep carrying: remembering the commitment, getting the missing answer, handling what changed and seeing the agreed result through.
What are you personally carrying between the sale and delivery?
Consider a fictional small studio preparing a client’s campaign. The client has agreed to a set of layouts and supplied most of the material. A designer, a copywriter and an outside contributor each have work to do.
The project plan looks reasonable. In practice, the owner knows that the product names are still provisional, the copywriter’s availability has changed and the client’s latest email may affect the agreed work. Those details are in different conversations. The owner connects them before assigning the next steps.
Some of that work needs the owner’s judgment. Some needs someone to keep paying attention after the first request goes out. Separating the two makes the responsibility easier to discuss.
Project coordination is an established kind of work. The US Bureau of Labor Statistics describes a role that brings together client requirements, plans, people, problems and deliverables. A small business may divide those duties differently, but the connecting work still needs a place to sit.
Frequently asked questions

Does this apply if every client project is different?
The projects can differ while the responsibility recurs. Look for continuing work such as obtaining inputs, keeping track of what was promised and following decisions through. Highly variable work may still require substantial human judgment.
Would I have to replace our project-management software?
That should not be assumed. Start with what your current tools already support and what remains difficult to coordinate. Any proposed Worker needs its actual access and permissions established for your setup.
What if the client does not answer?
The question remains unresolved. The person or Worker carrying it can follow the agreed policy and escalate it, but cannot invent an answer, treat silence as approval or make a new commitment without authority.
How would I know whether handing over the job helped?
Compare similar assignments before and after the change. Include your coordination and checking time, corrections, missed commitments and the quality of the finished work—not just how quickly messages were produced.
